Free, offline data extraction for accountants and auditors
Tractvana is a free Windows app made for accountants, auditors, bookkeepers and finance teams. Drop in a ledger, trial balance, bank statement, invoice PDF or a photo of a receipt, and Tractvana rebuilds it as a tidy table you can check, analyse and export to Excel.
Everything happens on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to create, and it works with no internet connection at all. Your clients' figures stay with you.
PDF to Excel that understands accounts. Tractvana rebuilds tables from the PDF layout, joins a table that runs over several pages into one, removes repeated page headers, and reads Dr / Cr columns and bracketed negatives as proper signed numbers. Password-protected PDFs open too.
A bank statement converter that checks the maths. Convert a bank statement to Excel, and Tractvana checks that the opening balance plus the movements equals the closing balance, so you know straight away whether the running balance agrees or where it first goes wrong.
A trial balance checker in one glance. For any ledger or trial balance, Tractvana totals debits and credits across the whole file and tells you "Balanced" or exactly how much it is "Out by", along with the first voucher that does not balance.
OCR for scans and photos, including Urdu OCR and Arabic OCR. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are straightened and read offline in English, Urdu or Arabic. Each page shows its confidence, so you know which figures to double-check.
Invoice data extraction. The Fields tab lists each invoice with its subtotal, tax, total and rate, and flags any invoice where the figures don't add up.
Reports without the learning curve. Build dashboards with charts that filter each other, pivots with subtotals and % of total, slicers, year-to-date and rolling 12-month views. If you want a simple, private Power BI alternative for your accounting files, this is it.
Big files are fine. CSV and text files up to 2 GB and millions of rows load in the background, so the window stays responsive.

Is Tractvana free?
Yes. Tractvana 1.0 is free to download and use, with every feature included. An optional Pro upgrade is planned for a later version.
Does Tractvana upload my files?
No. Everything runs on your Windows PC. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works with no internet connection. Your layouts and settings are kept in %APPDATA%\Tractvana.
Can it convert a bank statement PDF to Excel?
Yes. Tractvana rebuilds the statement as a table and checks that the opening balance plus the movements equals the closing balance. Export it to Excel, CSV, JSON or PDF.
Can it read Urdu and Arabic scans?
Yes. OCR in English, Urdu and Arabic is built in and runs offline. Each page shows its OCR confidence, so check low-confidence figures against the original.
How does the trial balance check work?
Tractvana totals debits and credits over the whole file and shows "Balanced" or "Out by" the difference, plus the first voucher that does not balance. Total, opening, closing and b/f / c/f rows are left out so nothing is counted twice.
Is it a Power BI alternative?
For accounting files, yes: dashboards with cross-filtering charts, pivots, slicers, YTD and rolling 12-month views, and export to PDF and PowerPoint, all offline and free.
